Brightlingsea YMCA was founded in the 1930s, affiliated to YMCA England and worked with the youth of the Town to provide a religious background within a youth club environment.

During the Second World War it also provided canteen facilities for serving military personnel, assigned to the naval base located within the Town.

Today Brightlingsea YMCA is a non profit association and registered charity providing facilities for the community, enabling groups and organisations to meet for companionship, fund raise for charity, educate for self improvement and provide opportunity for groups of like minded people to meet and further their interests.
